MATCHPLAY COMPETITIONS
Availability
1.1 Please do not enter a competition if you know that you will not
be available (due to business for example) for later rounds.
Arranging Matches
1.2 It is the responsibility of all competitors in the draw to take
the initiative in arranging the date of a tie.
Failure to complete a match by due date
1.3 If competitors do not complete a round by the competition due
date, the Committee's decision to disqualify one or more competitors,
or in exceptional case to agree an extension to the due date, shall
be final.
Payment of entrance fees and sweep money
1.4 These must be paid before the closing date of the draw, with the
exception of the Winter Mixed Foursomes competition when payment must
be before playing the first round.
1.5 Failure to pay by the proper date must mean disqualification.
1.6 The relevant sums should be enclosed in the envelopes provided
and placed in the Competition Fees box which is positioned in the
Palm Court.
THE COURSE
Etiquette
2.1 Etiquette of golf must be followed strictly at all times. In particular please observes the rules regarding priority of 2 ball matches over 3 or 4 ball matches, slow play, repair of fairway divots and pitch marks on greens. Bunkers must be raked after play and the rake left in the bunkers. Always leave the course as you would wish to find it.
Starting points and times
2.2 Starting points and times are displayed on the Club notice board.
Green Fees
2.3 Full details are to be found on the Club notice boards and fees must be paid to the Professional before play commences.
Ladies' Day
2.4 Tuesdays are Ladies' Days and the 1st tee is reserved for them at the following times:
Summer 09.30-14.00
Winter 09.00-13.00
2.5 On Tuesdays no three or four ball matches are allowed until after 14.00 in summer and 13.00 in winter and all matches must start from the 1st tee unless permission has been obtained from the Secretary.
Five Day Members
2.6 Five-day members are allowed to play at weekends and Public holidays after 16.00 on payment of the appropriate green fee, and may introduce guests accordingly.
Practice Areas
2.7 Practice areas are available and are defined on the score cards; do not use the practice putting green in front of the Clubhouse as a pitching green.
Trolleys
2.8 A trolley park exists in front of the Clubhouse lounge window. Please use this facility and do not leave trolleys on the patio outside the Clubhouse entrance. Players must not take trolleys onto the tees, onto the greens or onto the aprons of greens.
